Peter Pilotto originally launched the brand in 2007 with Christopher De Vos working on it part time.  De Vos, who was working at Vivienne Westwood, left them in 2008 to work fully on the brand. Together they developed their design signature with Pilotto focusing on textiles and prints while De Vos concentrated on the silhouette and drape of the garment. The graphics flatter the contours of the female form, and combine elegant cutting with draping and tailoring. Pilotto and De Vos are print masters for the 21st century, harnessing both digital technology and traditional craftsmanship to bring highly detailed, kaleidoscopic patterns to their sculptural pieces. Slick dresses and innovatively cut skirts in high-octane shades make a bold sartorial statement.

The duo are one of the most exciting young talents on the London Fashion Week roster, having won the Vogue/BFC Designer Fashion Fund in 2014 and dresses stars including Kristen Stewart, Beyoncé and Carey Mulligan. They also gained international exposure when Princess Eugenie chose the designers to create her royal wedding dress in 2018. Pilotto & Vos met while studying at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2000 and launched their label in 2007. In 2009 the duo was awarded the ‘Best Emerging Talent Award’ at the British Fashion Awards. Pilotto and DeVos have undertaken a number of collaborations with brands such as Target, Kipling, Lisa Marie Fernandez and Nicholas Kirkwood. In 2012, the duo were also invited to be guest designers at the prestigious Pitti W showcase in Florence.

Peter Pilotto sadly closed the business in Spring 2020.
